- That board or committee will have the opportunity to, by roll call, voice their support for the candidate.
- Interview
When the chair of a Development Board or Advisory Committee steps out of their role, the following steps will be taken:
Once identified, the staff director will set up an interview with the candidate, additionally looping in the State Director (or their appointed replacement) and Governing Board President (or their appointed replacement.) This interview process should be focused on ensuring that the candidate has a thorough understanding of the expectations of the new role they’re being asked to serve in.

After interviewing, the staff director will write up and email a synopsis including:
- Approval
- Discuss via email. If the discussion/unofficial tally is unanimously in favor, the candidate should be invited to the next meeting, where they will be officially approved and added. If there is some disagreement, then inviting the candidate should wait until after the official vote at the next meeting.
- Discuss and make a decision at the next board meeting on whether or not to add the candidate to the board.
After reviewing the Interview Synopsis, the Governing Board will:
- Final Onboarding
- Their Expectations
- What their role is (and isn’t).
- The meeting schedule and time commitment.
- Their Term of Service
- Restarting a new two year term as both Chair and Governing Board Member.
If approved, the State Director (or appointed staff person) will have a followup meeting, ensuring that the incoming director has a clear understanding of
